Depending on the dates in the purchase contract your singing will take place roughly 5-7 days prior to recordation (the day you get keys and the property becomes yours). Depending on if you are purchasing the property in cash, the lender you are getting your loan through, the type of loan you are doing, and the Escrow & Title Company assisting on the transaction dates may differ. The closing date is always a moving target and may change from the original target date. One of the easiest dates to work around is recording on a Friday.
This allows you to move in over the weekend and it works well for scheduling. In the closing process there are 3 key events which are signing, funding, and recordation. Usually a day between each event is needed, placing the key dates as laid out below:
For your escrow signing we will meet at the escrow company’s office and sign documents from both your lender and escrow. Your loan officer, realtor, and your escrow officer or notary will attend to help go over the documentation.

Before signing, your loan officer or escrow officer will provide you with the final “cash to close” figure through the Closing Disclosure. You will need to bring a cashier check to escrow for this amount either that day or by the next business day to ensure that you can “fund” the transaction on time. Along with your cash to close, typically the only other item you will need is a government issued ID.
